My dormant Cardiacs obsession has come back with a vengeance. I’ve been listening to all of their work (including side projects and other members of the Cardiacs family) in chronological order. Last night was disc one of The Special Garage Concerts, a live double album where the band revisited their earliest demos. It’s great to hear the very songs that started my chronological listen revisited by an older, more experienced band who kick so much more arse. I love their original recording of Hope Day, but the Garage version makes me ascend into the stratosphere.
